Nice musings. I was in New York approx 3...Hi Diana. Nice musings. I was in New York approx 3 weeks ago and was very pleased to attend an exhibition entitled Momento Mori: Remember You Will Die. The exhibition had been split into two sides: the eastern and western traditions with regard to death. Have to say the eastern was more compelling at first glance. Loved the lords of the Charnel Grounds: the protectors of yogis, who confront fear of death by meditating in charnel grounds where corpses are disposed of. As to the question of cremation or burial - made me wonder if instead of medicine i should donate my body to arts & crafts - a nice skull cap? a musical instrument from my shin bone and intestines? I don't mean to sound glib - it was a very beautiful exhibition. And of course like a good piece of content does (as indeed does this blog entry of yours) made you talk and think about the subject.
